Go Spurs Go!
I have just "watched" the Spurs beat the Suns. I put type "watch" extremely loosely because I had to follow the game on the Internet.
It doesn't seem like too long ago when I feel like I could watch a number of games on the same night. If I was unhappy with the way one game was going I could always switch to a different channel and watch a different game. Times have changed.
Now I am forced to watch a computer screen simulate a shot and read if Duncan made the shot. Often several minutes pass with nothing no updates only be be followed by thirteen plays in random order.
If the Spurs had somehow lost that game, I may have been scared for life.

Minnesota Winter, Damn It
It is snowing this morning. It is the end of April and it is snowing this morning. Minnesota is like that. Winter is cold but it is how it lingers that makes living here hard for me. I always tell people that ask me about how a Texan handles the Minnesota winters that I have no trouble acclimating because the Texas heat is as debilitating at the Minnesota winters.
This is a lie.
Texas heat hurts. The sun pounds on your back relentlessly forcing you to find shade. But it is the shade that helps you make it through. The shade provides relief, a respite to regroup and face the sun when you are ready. Minnesota is different. Minnesota teases us with just enough good weather to make us feel like we have survived winter for one more year. Then comes a day like this. Snow, wind, cold.
Looking outside I feel cold to the core.

Triathlon Training
I went for a run yesterday with two people I work with. I have just started training for the Turtleman Triathlon and I am having trouble motivating myself to train. I have been reaching for motivation through others.
Tina is training for the Wisconsin Ironman. The big one. The one that has you swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run a marathon. Crazy. My runs with her, that I have named Tina Tuesdays, are inspirational to me because I feel as if I could do what she is doing. That is completely unrealistic because I find myself drained after 30 minutes of running and she is not even breaking a sweat.
On Thursday I went running with Tina and another person I work with. Zach is much younger than me but is terribly out of shape. He has three young children and has no time to think about staying in shape. We went for a run around Colby Lake, about 2.5 miles. It was raining but fun. It is fun to run with others, time seem to pass quickly and I usually work harder that if I was just running alone.
Not this time.
Zach needed a much slower pace than I was use to. I still enjoyed the run. In fact, I was inspired that I was in better shape than Zach.
So inspired that I missed swimming this morning.
